This Duu contest was really effective in getting the fans to participate, getting visits to the site, and somehow showing off the essence of how Matt captures all our imaginations. As far as an idea for future contests, could this site organize something like the “Matt G. and Vitamin D” rap video, with the contest centered around submitting 2 lines of lyrics? That video has almost 8,000 views, and it had most of those in its first week. Maybe with more time and slightly better production a similar video could get 5 times more hits and grow his Twitter/Facebook etc. followers, especially with promotion from all the various fan sites. I was already a fan before I saw that video and the hilarious street singing video with Kris Allen, but these showed me another side, Matt’s comic timing and improv skills. He is really, really funny, and it is a kind of humor that should have broad appeal and gain him new fans.
Could you all convince Matt to do another video like this with ideas/lyrics from fans at this site?

Ok I like the idea of coming up with Rap lyrics about Matt! Great idea Mary. I am the worst rapper so I wouldn’t know where to begin, but it would be so hilariously bad that I may just have a lot of fun doing it. I also agree that a contest like that could help showcase Matt’s funny side to go along with the incredible musical talent people saw on tour!
